Undead and Unstable Book Review

The new Betsy book came out a bit ago, and I must say, I love it. :)

This book, Undead and Unstable, is the last in the darker trilogy (but not the final) of Betsy books to come out, and I love that MaryJanice Davidson has put a darker spin on the character. Betsy is still her dippy, sarcastic, and self-absorbed self, but she has a great plot line as well. Throughout the past three books, the characters have really developed, and become full of depth and personality. Okay, that makes them sound inspiring, which they are not. Unstable still spends a lot of time in the kitchen with Betsy fainting when things don’t go her way. We’re still in an alternate timeline (don’t get me started on time travel. I mean, really, do you KNOW how complicated it is?) and there are still major N/Dick issues. But, some problems get solved, some mysteries are explained, and generally it’s an amazing book.

SPOILER ALERT if you haven’t read the last couple of Undead books!

OH! And, if you read MJ’s blog – which you should, because she’s hilarious there too – you’ll read back to a blog post shortly after the first of these three darker books came out. In that post I commented and said that I liked that the Book of the Dead was Sinclair’s skin – because it explains why it always follows her around. I mean, it’s Sinklair!. Well, she used it in the book. I take full credit for that line. :)

Okay, it’s safe. END SPOILER!

So, go buy the book. If you haven’t been introduced to the Undead series by MaryJanice Davidson, then you need to go get it now. It is light, fun, and entertaining. I highly recommend it!
